Ndia W This movie would entertain me for a while, but halfway through, I was bored and found the film childish. I didn’t understand the plot, and it lost me throughout the film. This is a film that I feel like a child would be entertained with, but most adults wouldn’t find this to be a good film, including me. I will say I love how bold everything was; it kind of had a Spongebob color scheme to it, which I loved. I was more entertained by the colors and outfits in the film than the actual acting. I wasn’t impressed by the acting, which is surprising because these are some truly amazing actors. I would recommend this film to someone who loves comedies and comic books, but in other words, I wouldn’t watch this again. The dialogue I found kind of weird, but it made it that much more interesting. I recommend it since it is bad in a good way in terms of the story plot and how extra it is. That is probably why I don't give it 5 stars. The superhuman/animal hybrids I found to be really interesting and enjoyable. The post world with water being the important and valuable source is a interesting concept as well. It gives that mad max feeling just more retro. The movie starts off with the main character known as Tank girl riding her bull in the desert where they see a corpse that has been mauled by rippers. The movie also stated that by 2023, Earth has devolved into a bleak, arid desert after a comet upsets the planet's rain cycle. An evil corporation where the leader is obsessed with water even kills people for it by stabbing a device into them and having their blood sucked into it and turns into water which makes his victim's body drained due to their blood being sucked into the device. He also suspected Tank girl stealing the water from his employee. In other words, Tank girl is one of the rare survivors of a dystopian Earth. She also rides a war tank she steals from the evil corporation and she battles against the oppression of a mega-corporation that controls the planet's last supply of drinkable water. She also met a girl she saved named Jet from being harassed by one of the generals. Two of them helped each other and escaped from being captive from the corporation. Tank girl also has a friend who is a little girl named Sam who was abducted by the corporation after being saved by Tank girl and Jet from a child trafficker. Tank girl then asks help from the reapers (the people who were once humans until the evil corporation mixed their DNA with Kangaroo RNA which turns them into a humanoid kangaroo). And other than that, Tank girl's personality is quite very similar to Harley Quinn from DC comics since she is dramatically sarcastic not taking things serious like she was. This cult film definitely can be related to another cult film "The Stuff" in the aspect that a big organization has a product controlling peoples lives. In the stuff that said product is yogurt , and in Tank girl , that product is water.The film definitely is not amazing from the plot but perhaps from the dialogue. Lori petty does a good job of being a savage when needed to: but also a sweet lady to those being kind with her. She has a ton of dialogue throughout the scene with her sarcastic remarks or comedic little snares towards the other characters which is a good aspect in the films chance of keeping viewers entertained The film tries to fuse comedy and also drama or suspense in the same time following the movies length. A film such as Tank Girl should not be taken seriously as it glorifies the main character such as a super hero you would see in the avengers or from DC as they perform surreal stunts in the film. Along with the cheesy side effects and cgi used to edit in this film , this definitely can be put in the same category as "The Stuff". The weird fur like creatures the main characters meet in the film has a strange lore that probably will leave the viewer in a cringe-worthy moment due to the films creative thought behind these creatures.If you love a fantasy full of imagination and cheesy scenes that make no sense at all, give this film a watch. Action packed with a smattering of musical entertainment. Comedic and rompy. As a youth I fully identified with Tank Girl and there isn't any other film like it! I think it transformed well from the graphic novel form. One of my favourite lines is "It's been swell, but the swellings gone down!" TG.
